News from Sequel Farm

A major addition was added to Sequel Farm in 2008. We now have an indoor area (144x80), more stalls with paddocks, another heated tack room and a heated shop. We have also added more very large, grass turn-out paddocks. Plans for the spring of this year are a large out side arena, and additional obstacles on our mountain trail schooling course.
Versatility Under One Roof

Looking Back at 2009
Audrey traveled up and down the Pacific Coast States showing in Dressage and Mule shows. It was the first year of mule performance classes for Heart B Oliver and he had great success in many different disciplines. At Mule Days in Bishop, CA he ended the week with Reserve World Champion Green English. That was only the beginning of his year and he went from show to show winning Green Championships including the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, CA. When it was all over and the year end points were tabulated he was the American Mule Assn. Reserve Champion Over-All High Point, giving up the Grand Championship to Heart B Dyna, (full sister to Tux). Also for the AMA he was Champion in Green English Performance, Green Jumping, Green Western Performance, and Mature Halter-14.2 hands and over. A great start to the career of a young mule!

In the Dressage world, Audrey showed Special's Chromatic Legacy, owned by Joy Roloeftz, to many high score awards and finished the year by winning Reserve Champion 2nd Level at the Oregon Dressage Society Finals. Nationally he ended up Champion 2nd Level in the USDF All-Breeds - American Warmblood Assn. His travelling partner Heart B Porter Creek, not to be outdone, ended his year as National Champion All-Breeds Training Level and 1st Level for the American Mule Assn. Porter was ranked in the % for all equines in Training Level and % in First Level. He took on rock star status as he became well known from coast to coast and was featured in local and national publications. He is spending this winter learning to drive to a cart and will use his dressage skills in a new discipline. There is always something new with our long eared friends. Tux didn't show this past year but is learning to work cattle and will add Team Penning, and Sorting to his performance skills for the 2010 show year.
Tux's full sister, Heart B Dyna, spent some time with Audrey last spring and upped the anti by winning the AMA Year End High Point Saddle, as well as Champion Bridled English Performance and Champion Bridled Western Performance, both with her owner Laura Hermanson, and Reserve Champion Mature Halter.
Another student of Audrey's, Nancy Cox competed at the National Mountain Trail Championships in Eugene, OR. Riding her Arabian gelding Zippo, she was 2nd in the Amateur 50-Over, where she missed 1st by one point! In the Open 50-Over, competing against professionals, she was 3rd. On the Logan Ring course she was High Point Pleasure Saddle Type. Maintaining the Sequel Farm versatility agenda, Nancy competed at the CODS League Shows in Training Level Dressage and scored two 60%s!
